A New Year at First Steps

As the Christmas holiday came to an end, excitement and anticipation filled the air as the children returned to First Steps Nursery, ready to reunite with friends and practitioners and get back into their familiar routines.

After a festive break filled with family fun and holiday cheer, it was heart-warming to see the children’s faces light up as they walked through the nursery doors once again. The nursery was buzzing with chatter and laughter as friends reconnected and shared stories of their holiday adventures.

Here’s how we eased back into our daily routines:

  • Warm Welcomes: The children were greeted with warm smiles from the practitioners who were just as excited to see them. The nurturing environment helped the children quickly settle back in, feeling safe and loved.

  • Story Sharing: We started the day with a special circle time where the children eagerly shared their holiday experiences. From unwrapping presents to visiting grandparents, their tales were filled with joy and wonder, sparking delightful conversations among friends.

  • Re-establishing Routines: Getting back into the swing of things was a breeze. The children slipped back into their daily routines with ease, enjoying familiar activities such as sand play, engaging in imaginative play, and participating in educational games that foster learning and growth. The Toddlers have been very interested in vehicles so Kelly and Kelsey made roads with them to zoom their cars along! The babies have enjoyed dancing to music as well as creating pictures with glue and sand play.

  • Outdoor Play: The crisp winter air didn't deter our outdoor enthusiasts. The children bundled up in their warm coats and headed outside for some fresh air and active play. Running, climbing, and exploring the playground with friends brought smiles and laughter to everyone.

Returning to First Steps Nursery after the Christmas holiday was a joyful reunion. The children quickly readjusted to their routines, surrounded by friends and caring practitioners who support and encourage them every step of the way.

We look forward to all the exciting adventures and learning opportunities that the new term will bring at First Steps Nursery!
